National Youth Day 2026 Celebrations in Odisha: CM Majhi Highlights Youth Empowerment

Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: Odisha celebrated National Youth Day 2026 with great enthusiasm at Utkal University, Vani Vihar, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi graced the occasion, urging the youth to embrace Vivekananda’s ideals of discipline, self-confidence, and harmony between science and spirituality.

Addressing the gathering, the CM highlighted Odisha’s emergence as India’s “Sports Capital” and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to skill development, training, and cultural pursuits for youth empowerment.

He emphasised that education must go beyond academics to nurture character and nation-building.

Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj praised Odisha’s youth for their global achievements and lauded the success of the Fit India Mission in promoting healthy lifestyles.

The event was attended by dignitaries, including MLA Babu Singh, Utkal University VC Dr Yajneswar Dandapat, and senior officials from the Higher Education and Odia Language departments.

National Youth Day, observed annually on January 12, serves as a reminder of Swami Vivekananda’s timeless call to “Arise, Awake, and Strive” for excellence in personal and national life.
