Nabarangpur Wall Collapse: Four-Year-Old Girl Dies, Two Injured in Odisha
Komabandh village in Nabarangpur district was struck by tragedy on Thursday afternoon when an abandoned house wall collapsed, trapping three young girls beneath the debris.
Four-year-old Yamuna lost her life in the accident, while her companions, Damayanti and Jyot, i sustained serious injuries. Damayanti suffered a fractured leg, and Jyoti remains under medical care at Umerkote Sub-Divisional Hospital.
Witnesses reported that the children had been playing near the verandah of the deserted house when the wall suddenly gave way. Villagers rushed to the scene, rescuing the injured and alerting authorities.
The incident has left the community in shock and grief, with parents and neighbours mourning Yamuna’s untimely death and praying for the recovery of the injured girls.
This heartbreaking accident underscores the dangers posed by neglected and abandoned structures in rural areas, raising urgent concerns about safety and preventive measures.
