Nabarangpur Police Nab Six in Major Robbery Case, Recover ₹22 Lakh

Umerkote police have successfully cracked a high-profile robbery case, arresting six individuals and recovering cash, gold ornaments, vehicles, and mobile phones worth Rs 22 lakh.

The incident occurred on February 22, when armed miscreants stormed the residence of Amulya Jena in Kochaniamba village, threatening him with sharp weapons and looting valuables worth Rs 70 lakh.

Following Jena’s complaint, police launched a swift investigation, deploying scientific teams and sniffer dogs to track the culprits.

The accused, hailing from Jeypore (Koraput) and Papadahandi (Nabarangpur), were apprehended during coordinated raids.

Umerkote SDPO Subhendu Sabar confirmed the arrests and recovery during a press briefing.

All six have been forwarded to court for further proceedings.

This breakthrough highlights the efficiency of Nabarangpur police in tackling organised crime and restoring public confidence in law enforcement.
