N Bhaskar Rao Deserts BJD, Launches ‘Biju Swabhiman Mancha’

Cuttack: In a dramatic political development, veteran leader and former Rajya Sabha MP N Bhaskar Rao has officially parted ways with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), announcing the formation of a new political platform named Biju Swabhiman Mancha.

The move signals growing unrest within the BJD and could reshape Odisha’s political landscape ahead of the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a press briefing, Rao emphasized that the new platform is not merely a political outfit but a movement aimed at restoring the original values and vision of legendary leader Biju Patnaik. “This is a mission to reclaim Odisha’s pride and integrity,” Rao declared, underscoring his dissatisfaction with the current trajectory of the BJD.

The Biju Swabhiman Mancha is expected to attract disillusioned party members and grassroots workers who feel sidelined within the BJD.

Political analysts believe Rao’s exit could trigger a ripple effect, with other senior leaders potentially following suit.

Rao’s influence in southern Odisha and his organizational acumen make this a significant shift in the state’s political dynamics. As Odisha gears up for elections, the emergence of this new platform could introduce fresh narratives and realign voter loyalties.
