Mumbai, April 27, 2025(Orissa Today) – A significant fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) office in the historic Kaiser-I-Hind building, located in Mumbai’s Ballard Estate. The incident, which escalated to a Level-III emergency, has fortunately not resulted in any reported injuries.
The fire, reported at 2:31 AM, initially categorized as a Level-II blaze, was later upgraded to Level-III by 4:17 AM, signaling the severity of the situation. The fourth floor of the five-story building suffered the most damage. The building houses multiple offices, further amplifying the urgency of containment efforts.
A massive operation, coordinated by the Mumbai Fire Brigade, involved eight fire engines, six jumbo tankers, an aerial water tower tender, and other specialized equipment. Despite their efforts, the cause of the fire remains unknown, with an investigation currently underway.
