Most-Wanted Gangster Injured in Berhampur Police Encounter
Berhampur, Aug 2, (OT Webdesk)— In a dramatic turn of events, notorious gangster Sunil Nahak was injured during a police encounter near the Pitatali–Chikiti road on Friday evening.
Acting on a tip-off, a special operations team intercepted Nahak, who attempted to flee and opened fire on the officers. The police retaliated, injuring Nahak in the exchange.
He was immediately rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment under tight security. Doctors have confirmed his condition is stable.
Nahak, a resident of Kabisuryanagar, has a long criminal history involving robbery, extortion, arms smuggling, and suspected links to organised crime syndicates in southern Odisha. Following the encounter, police have intensified patrolling and launched follow-up operations to dismantle his network and recover illegal weapons.
Authorities have initiated a full-scale investigation to trace Nahak’s associates and further unravel the extent of his criminal operations.
