( OT Webdesk)Odisha is set to experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds in the coming days as a low-pressure system forms over the Bay of Bengal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for Monday, advising residents to stay cautious. Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 50 km/h in isolated areas.
Despite concerns, meteorologists have confirmed that the system is unlikely to develop into a cyclone. Sarat Chandra Sahu, a senior meteorologist, reassured the public that these conditions align with typical pre-monsoon activity.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has already progressed into northeastern states and is expected to reach Odisha soon, albeit slightly delayed.
Authorities urge citizens to take necessary precautions to stay safe amid the shifting weather patterns.
