MoD to Host Strategic Workshop on Indigenising UAV & Counter-UAS Tech in Delhi

New Delhi, July 15(OT Webdesk): The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is all set to host a landmark Workshop and Exhibition focused on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) at the Manekshaw Centre on July 16, 2025.

Spearheaded by the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) and the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS), the event aims to accelerate India’s drive for defence indigenisation by reducing reliance on foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

This strategic initiative follows the success of recent operations, notably Operation Sindoor, where indigenous UAV and C-UAS platforms demonstrated outstanding precision and troop protection capabilities.

The workshop is expected to bring together defence personnel, scientists, strategic experts, and industry leaders to collectively shape a national roadmap for indigenous UAV development.

The event will feature expert talks, live technology demonstrations, and critical policy discussions.

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan will deliver the opening address, while Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, will close the event with the release of a strategic policy document aligned with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.

This milestone signals a strong commitment to transforming India into a self-reliant defence technology hub.
