Mobile Sanitation Unit Launched in Bhubaneswar by Jindal Foundation & BMC

Bhubaneswar: In a significant step toward enhancing public hygiene, the Jindal Foundation, in collaboration with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), has launched a mobile sanitation unit to serve large gatherings, festivals, and public events across the city.

The truck-mounted facility was flagged off by Jindal Foundation Chairperson Shallu Jindal and Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das, alongside senior officials, corporators, and sanitation workers.

Designed to provide accessible and clean sanitation, the unit features separate sections for men and women.

The gents’ section includes one western-style toilet, one Indian-style toilet, three urinals, and a wash basin, while the ladies’ section offers two Indian-style toilets, one western-style toilet, and a wash basin.

The facility is equipped with a diesel generator for power backup and exhaust fans for ventilation.

While the Jindal Foundation has provided the unit, BMC will oversee its deployment, operation, and maintenance.

Speaking at the launch, Shallu Jindal emphasised that sanitation is fundamental to building healthy, inclusive communities.

Mayor Das highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in strengthening civic infrastructure and ensuring citizen-friendly services.

This initiative reflects a shared commitment to improving urban hygiene and supporting Bhubaneswar’s vibrant public life, reinforcing the city’s vision of becoming cleaner and more accessible for all.
