The shocking event unfolded just days after a similar case in Gopalpur, intensifying public outrage and demands for stronger protective measures.
According to police sources, the accused—reportedly from the same locality—allegedly lured the girl to a secluded spot where the assault took place.
A formal complaint by the victim’s family led to the immediate arrest of the suspect. Both the survivor and the accused have undergone medical examinations, with legal proceedings initiated promptly.
The Ganjam police have assured that a comprehensive investigation is underway and pledged to file a charge sheet without delay.
The accused is expected to be produced in court today.
