Bhubaneswar, Oct 29: A minor fire broke out at Lok Seva Bhavan, the Odisha Secretariat, on Wednesday morning, triggering brief panic among staff but resulting in no casualties or major damage.

The incident occurred around 9 AM when an electrical board reportedly caught fire due to excessive load, causing a short circuit. Cleaning staff promptly alerted the Secretariat’s fire and electrical teams, who responded swiftly and extinguished the flames before the situation escalated.

Officials confirmed that the fire was contained quickly, thanks to the rapid action of emergency responders. No injuries were reported, and the building sustained minimal damage.

An internal investigation has been launched to assess the electrical systems and prevent future occurrences. The Secretariat remains fully operational.
