Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder

Shillong, June 10, ( OT Webdesk)—Meghalaya Police have secured a three-day transit remand for Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the alleged murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore resident.

Authorities claim that Raja was murdered during the couple’s honeymoon in Meghalaya, with suspicions that Sonam had orchestrated the crime, allegedly hiring contract killers.

Following an intense search, Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, before being transferred to Patna’s Phulwari Sarif police station and later Shillong.

Three other suspects—Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Raj Singh Kushwaha—have also been placed under judicial remand as the investigation intensifies.

Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, confirmed the arrests, stating that efforts are underway to locate a remaining fugitive tied to the case.

A post-mortem report suggests Raja suffered two severe head injuries, strengthening the murder allegations.

The incident has sparked widespread concern, with police working to piece together the full sequence of events leading up to the crime.

Authorities continue their probe to establish a clear motive and secure further evidence in a case that has gripped the nation
