Bhubaneswar, June 24: The Odisha Housing & Urban Development Department launched a two-day orientation programme for district-level Master Trainers at the SUDA Conference Hall, aiming to accelerate flagship urban initiatives aligned with Viksit Odisha @2036.
Principal Secretary Usha Padhee called for a paradigm shift in urban planning, urging trainers to embrace innovation and future-readiness to help realise the broader national goal of Viksit Bharat @2047.
She spotlighted initiatives like the Mukhyamantri Sahari Bikash Yojana (MSBY), Shahajog, and Ankur, which are positioned to drive inclusive and sustainable urban transformation.
Senior officials, including Arindam Dakua and Gangadhar Naik, led thematic sessions covering Housing for All, Urban Sanitation, Water Supply, Liveable Cities, Urban Planning, and E-Governance.
These discussions were crafted to enhance policy execution at the district and Urban Local Body levels.
Project Director Rabindra Kumar Sahu emphasised the multiplier role of Master Trainers, describing them as “knowledge conduits” positioned to build grassroots capacity for resilient and people-centric reforms.
The orientation marks a crucial push in preparing Odisha’s urban machinery to meet its developmental aspirations under a unified vision of prosperity.
