Bhubaneswar: The first official poster of Mantramugdha, a mystery-comedy-horror film directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Anupam Patnaik, has been released, sparking excitement across Odisha’s film circles.

Produced by Amiya Patnaik Productions and helmed by debut producer Barsha Patnaik, the film is slated for a theatrical release in January.

Shot over 50 days at the historic Dharakote Rajmahal in Brahmapur, Mantramugdha promises a fresh cinematic experience that blends suspense, humour, and horror against a culturally rich backdrop.

The film marks Anupam Patnaik’s return after the success of Karma and Pratiksha, and is touted as a narrative never before attempted in Odia cinema.

The ensemble cast includes Sanoj Kumar, Manmay De, Sarthak Bharadwaj, Surjyamayi Mahapatra, and several other seasoned performers.

Cinematography is led by Deepak Kumar, with editing by Rashmiranjan Dash and sound design by Shakti Swaroop Dwivedi. The screenplay is co-written by Anupam and Rohit Gehlot, with dialogues by Pranab Rath and Nishant Majithia.

Adding to its uniqueness, the film features music by five composers—Ashish Pradhan, Anurag Patnaik, Sangeet Patnaik, Anurag Panda, and Roumyaraj Pradhan—each contributing to the film’s diverse sonic palette.

With its intriguing storyline, rich cultural elements, and a visually immersive setting, Mantramugdha is poised to redefine genre storytelling in Odia cinema.
