Retired IAS officer Manoj Kumar Parida has been appointed Odisha’s new Chief Information Commissioner.
With an extensive background, including serving as an Insurance Ombudsman in Bhubaneswar for three years, Parida’s leadership is anticipated to further the principles of transparency and accountability.
Joining Parida are three newly appointed Information Commissioners: Pranabindu Acharya, a retired IPS officer; Kalpana Pattnaik, an advocate from the Orissa High Court; and Pabitra Mandal, a retired IAS officer.
Together, they will bolster the Odisha State Information Commission, which functions under the Right to Information Act, 2005, to ensure public access to government information and address grievances.
The appointments aim to strengthen the state’s commitment to good governance by enabling informed citizens.
