Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), June 22: In a disturbing incident in Odisha’s Balasore district, a man allegedly murdered his parents while intoxicated and clandestinely buried their bodies in Garasanga village, Simulia area. The tragic event unfolded four days ago, reportedly driven by a dispute over land.The suspect, identified as Ramesh Behera, has since fled, prompting a search operation by authorities.Prabhakar Behera, also known as Bulei (90), and his wife Champa Behera (75) were reported missing, leading their daughter, Mamata Mallick, to file a missing persons report with Simulia police. She accused her brother Ramesh of perpetrating the crime.Following Mamata’s complaint, police initiated an investigation and discovered Prabhakar’s body buried near his residence. Champa’s remains are still unlocated.Police, acting on a foul smell emanating from the premises, unearthed Prabhakar’s body with the assistance of a magistrate, Simulia police station’s IIC, and a forensic team.Authorities suspect Ramesh buried his parents to eliminate evidence of the crime before absconding from the scene.
