Announcing a grant of Rs 2 crore for the upgraded facility, Majhi said all necessary amenities would be provided to fully develop the Shabari Bhawan.

Describing the initiative, the Chief Minister said the Bhawan is more than just a shelter; it is a platform for empowering tribal youth and fostering leadership.

The facility will serve as a centre for education, employment, and cultural activities, in addition to offering short-term accommodation for tribal brothers and sisters.

“This Bhawan will foster cultural vibrancy through the organisation of conferences, training camps, art exhibitions, and research programmes,” Majhi added.
Speaking on the occasion, Majhi emphasised that tribal culture is not limited to dance and music, but is a way of life and the soul of the community.
“It is our collective responsibility to preserve and promote it,” he said, expressing confidence that the Shabari Bhawan would play a key role in nurturing and showcasing Odisha’s rich tribal heritage.

He further informed that a Tribal Culture and Heritage Bhawan and a Tribal Language Institute are also being established in Bhubaneswar to strengthen the cultural and linguistic legacy of the state’s indigenous communities.

Highlighting his government’s vision, the Chief Minister said, “We aim to build a prosperous Odisha by 2036 through holistic development and the empowerment of tribal communities.”
Majhi said the Shabari Bhawan would become a symbol of Odisha’s identity and serve as an inspiration for future generations.
