Mahavatar Narsimha Breaks Rs 100 Crore Barrier in Just 11 Days, Sets New Benchmark for Indian Animation

Bhubaneswar, August 5(OT Webdesk): Ashwin Kumar’s animated mythological epic Mahavatar Narsimha has stormed the Indian box office, crossing Rs 100 crore within just 11 days of release.

Premiering on July 25, the film opened modestly at Rs 2 crore but witnessed exponential growth, multiplying its earnings 15-fold by Day 10.

The film, based on the fourth avatar of Lord Vishnu, narrates the dramatic tale of Narsimha’s emergence to save Bhakt Prahlad from the tyrant Hiranyakashyap.

Its Hindi version alone has contributed Rs 70 crore to the total, underscoring its pan-India appeal.

In a surprising turn, Mahavatar Narsimha has outperformed big-budget titles like Kesari 2 and Jaat, becoming India’s highest-grossing animated feature to date.

With major releases like War 2 and Coolie slated for mid-August, the film continues to draw audiences across demographics.

Director Ashwin Kumar confirmed that this is the first instalment in the ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, promising more animated retellings of India’s mythological heritage.
