Lord Lingaraj’s Rukuna Ratha Yatra Concludes in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, March 30: The sacred Rukuna Ratha Yatra of Lord Lingaraj concluded today with the deities Chandrasekhar, Dola Govind, and Devi Durga bidding farewell to Lord Rameswar at the Rameswar Temple.

After a week‑long stay marked by rituals and offerings, the deities began their return journey to the Lingaraj Temple early in the morning.

Devotees thronged the temple premises for the final darshan between 6 am and 8 am before the chariot procession commenced.

The journey included traditional stops at Asura Kiri and other Niyoga points for Pana offerings, symbolising Odisha’s rich spiritual heritage.

Security arrangements and logistical support were in place to manage the large crowds, ensuring the smooth conduct of the rituals.

The deities are expected to reach the Lingaraj Temple by afternoon, marking the ceremonial end of this year’s Yatra.

The Rukuna Ratha Yatra, often called the “Anasara Rath,” is a centuries‑old tradition that continues to bind devotees with deep cultural and spiritual significance, reaffirming Bhubaneswar’s identity as the temple city of India.
