(OT Webdesk)After nearly two decades, the iconic Indian television drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi made a grand comeback with Season 2, premiering on July 29 at 10:30 PM on Star Plus and JioCinema.
Spearheaded by Ektaa Kapoor, the reboot reunites beloved characters Tulsi and Mihir Virani, played by Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay.
The premiere sparked a wave of nostalgia on social media, with fans celebrating the return of the original theme music and Tulsi’s signature door-opening scene. Smriti Irani, now a political figure, was lauded for retaining Tulsi’s grace and screen presence.
Amar Upadhyay’s Mihir also received a warm welcome, though fans humorously pleaded for fewer dramatic twists this season.
Veteran actors, including Ketki Dave, Kamalika Guha Thakurta, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, and Shakti Anand, reprise their roles, while new faces like Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, Shagun Sharma, and Tanisha Mehta join the ensemble.
Originally aired from 2000 to 2008, the show was a cultural phenomenon that reshaped Indian prime-time viewing. With its reboot, Kapoor aims to bridge generations, bringing families together once again in front of the television.
