Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary Reopens, Welcomes Tourists with Rich Biodiversity and Scenic Trails
Balasore, November 1, 2025: After a six-month seasonal closure, Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary reopened its gates to nature enthusiasts and eco-tourists today. Nestled in the heart of Balasore district, the sanctuary is renowned for its lush forests, diverse wildlife, and tranquil landscapes.
The reopening was marked by an official inauguration led by the Divisional Forest Officer at 8 a.m., with Ranger and ACF Subrat Kumar Behera confirming operational readiness.
Visitors can now explore the sanctuary’s full expanse via a single entry-exit route, implemented due to limited staffing but designed to ensure a seamless experience.
Key attractions include the Rissia Nature Camp, Rissia Dam, and nearby waterfalls.
A special highlight this season is the thriving population of deer translocated from Nandankanan Zoological Park, which has steadily grown, adding to the sanctuary’s ecological richness.
Forest officials have urged visitors to follow safety protocols and respect the sanctuary’s environmental guidelines.
The reopening is expected to boost local tourism, support conservation awareness, and provide a fresh escape for nature lovers across Odisha and beyond.
