Kuchinda Tehsildar Suspended Over Land Dispute Allegations | Odisha Property Fraud Scandal
Sambalpur, September 16 : In a dramatic turn of events, the Odisha Revenue Department has suspended Kuchinda Tehsildar Mitali Madhusmita Dalei following serious allegations of misconduct in a contentious land dispute.
The action stems from a formal complaint filed by local resident Rajesh Agarwal, who accused Dalei of colluding with his cousins to fraudulently transfer property ownership.
Agarwal claims that the mutation documents were approved by Dalei without proper verification, falsely declaring him and his immediate family deceased—thereby enabling his relatives to seize the estate of the late Jagdish Lal Seth.
The complaint, which was escalated to the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, and Northern Revenue Commissioner, prompted swift departmental action. Dalei has been directed to report to the Sambalpur District Collector’s office during her suspension.
The incident has sparked widespread concern over the integrity of land administration in the region. A deeper investigation is underway to determine the extent of procedural violations and potential collusion.
