Krushi Gyan Lecture Series Launches: Viksit Odisha for Viksit Bharat 2047 Vision
Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: The Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment has inaugurated the Krushi Gyan Lecture Series: Viksit Odisha for Viksit Bharat at Krushi Bhavan Auditorium.
The initiative aims to foster dialogue among farmers, policymakers, researchers, academia, and development stakeholders on Odisha’s pivotal role in India’s agricultural transformation.
The inaugural lecture was delivered by Dr Mangi Lal Jat, Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Speaking on “Vision Plan for Viksit Bharat 2047 in Agricultural Research, Education, and Extension, with a Focus on Odisha,” Dr Jat highlighted Odisha as a “living laboratory” for scientific agricultural innovation.
He emphasised that the state is ahead of many others in agri‑skill development and praised its transformative vision for sustainable farming.
The session outlined strategic priorities, innovations, and policy directions essential for achieving the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, while addressing Odisha’s unique agro‑climatic and socio‑economic context.
Senior officials, scientists, academicians, and representatives from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) and ICAR institutions attended the event
Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary of DA&FE, introduced the guest speaker, while Additional Secretary Shubhranshu Mishra delivered the welcome address.
Dr Sangram Keshari Pattanayak, Joint Director of Agriculture, presented the vote of thanks.
The lecture series is expected to serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange, reinforcing Odisha’s leadership in India’s agricultural development journey.
