Kidnap in Film Style: Groom Held at Gunpoint, Bride Taken Away by Lover

Balangir – 22.02.2026 – The wedding had just concluded. The groom, full of joy, was returning home with his bride. But midway, happiness turned into disaster. On the way, the bride’s former lover suddenly appeared.

Pointing a gun at the groom’s head, he abducted the newlywed bride and fled. The groom, left helpless, returned home in despair. This shocking incident has come to light from the Tarbha police station area in Subarnapur district.

According to reports, Rinku from Khujenpali village in Balangir district had married a young woman from Kantamal in Boudh district in a traditional Vedic ceremony. After the wedding, the bride and groom were happily returning from Kantamal to Khujenpali, accompanied by family members.

Near a petrol pump under Tarbha police station in Subarnapur district, the lover made a dramatic “film-style” entry. With 4–5 associates, he blocked the groom’s vehicle, pointed a gun directly at the groom’s head, and forcibly took away the newlywed bride.

Following the incident, the groom’s family lodged a complaint at the Tarbha police station. Based on the complaint, police have begun an investigation. Meanwhile, the groom returned home heartbroken and humiliated.
