Khurdha Brown Sugar Seizure: 3 Arrested With Rs 34K Cash & Contraband

Khurdha, Odisha — In a decisive crackdown on narcotics, Khurdha police seized 150 grams of brown sugar and arrested three individuals allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.

The operation was conducted near Lata Pokhari on Batamangala Road by a team led by Sub-Inspector Basanta Kumar Pattanaik.

The accused — aged 23, 25, and 23 — hail from Mukundaprasad, Samantarapur, and Bhaliabadi within Khurdha district.

Alongside the contraband, police recovered Rs 34,000 in cash, three mobile phones, and two motorcycles, all of which have been held as evidence.

The operation was executed under the supervision of SDPO Nihar Ranjan Pradhan and IIC Sanjay Kumar Nayak, following directives from SP Vivekananda Sharma. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to curbing drug-related activities in the region.

Investigations are ongoing to trace the supply chain and potential links to larger networks.
