Khurda Road Railway Division logs fastest loading mark
Bhubaneswar, Sep 1 (UNI) The Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway has achieved a major milestone by recording the fastest-ever freight handling performance across Indian Railways during the first five months of the current fiscal year (April to August 2025).
The Division handled an impressive 132.17 million tonnes of freight during this period, surpassing the 124.30 million tonnes achieved in the corresponding period of 2024-25 fiscal.
This includes 72.34 million tonnes of loading (a 9% increase from 66.50 million tonnes in 2024), and 59.83 million tonnes of unloading, (57.80 million tonnes in 2024), underscoring the Division’s outstanding operational efficiency and resource optimization.
This consistent growth reflects the dedication of the Khurda Road Division team, robust coordination with customers and stakeholders, and the proactive support of the East Coast
Railway Zone.
Khurda Road Division continues to set new standards in freight operations, reinforcing its crucial role in supporting India’s logistics infrastructure and driving national economic growth through enhanced freight movement, claimed officials of ECoR.
