Khariar Police Bust Bike Theft Racket, Arrest Four Culprits

Nuapada, (OT Webdesk) – In a major breakthrough, Khariar Police dismantled a bike theft racket, recovering 15 stolen motorcycles and arresting four accused individuals.

The crackdown follows a surge in vehicle thefts, prompting Nuapada SP G.R. Raghavendra to launch an intensive investigation.

The operation commenced after a motorcycle was stolen from Jaydeb Panda’s residence in Khairpadar village on June 8.

Based on preliminary inquiries, authorities apprehended Prashant Kumar, whose interrogation led to the unravelling of the syndicate.

The arrested individuals—Prashant Kumar (Khariar NAC, Ward No. 7), Bikash Nag (Loharapali), Abhinash Nag (Sagundangari), and Pintu Jha (Putupada)—were sent to court for further proceedings.

Additional SP Ranjit Nayak confirmed that the recovered bikes were traced to various locations in Khariar, and investigations are ongoing to identify potential connections to other thefts.

Residents troubled by increasing vehicle thefts have expressed relief, with the police action reinforcing public trust in law enforcement.
