Kerala HC Stay Clouds Release of The Kerala Story 2
The Kerala High Court has stayed the theatrical release of The Kerala Story 2 for 15 days, raising questions about the film’s certification process and its potential impact on communal harmony.
Despite the order, tickets for the film remain available on platforms like BookMyShow, with listings in theatres across Mumbai and Delhi.
Major cinema chains such as PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis have not listed the film, while smaller theatres show mixed responses.
Damodar Cinemas issued an advisory that the film is “on hold due to legal matters,” whereas M2K Cinemas announced the film had released, sparking confusion among viewers.
The filmmakers have yet to issue an official statement, leaving audiences uncertain about whether the stay order has been lifted or ignored.
The High Court emphasised that releasing the film without proper scrutiny could be legally improper.
For now, viewers are advised to check directly with cinema halls and follow official updates from the production team and court proceedings.
