Kendrapara Revenue Inspector Nabbed Taking ₹5,000 Bribe

Odisha Vigilance officers arrested Revenue Inspector (RI) Pradyumna Keshari Behura of Kedargarh Circle, Rajnagar Tahasil, Kendrapara district, after he was caught red‑handed accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a landowner.

The incident occurred on February 27, 2026, in front of the Rajnagar Tahasil Office.

Investigators revealed that Behura had demanded the bribe to submit a favourable report in a land mutation case related to inheritance updation.

Acting on the landowner’s complaint, Vigilance officials laid a trap and recovered the tainted money from Behura’s possession.

Following the arrest, simultaneous searches were conducted at two locations linked to him.

A case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 (Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 09 dated 26.02.2026).

Authorities reiterated their commitment to curbing corruption in government offices, especially in sensitive land mutation cases. The investigation is ongoing.
