Kantapara Tahasildar Nabbed in Disproportionate Assets Case
Cuttack/Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has arrested Prasanna Samantaray, Tahasildar of Kantapara in Cuttack district, for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets far beyond his known sources of income.
During simultaneous raids, officials seized two multi‑storeyed buildings, seven prime plots in Bhubaneswar, and cash worth Rs 2.17 lakh.
Investigators noted that Samantaray failed to provide satisfactory explanations for these assets.
He was taken into custody and will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 (PS Case No. 12/2026).
This arrest underscores Odisha Vigilance’s intensified crackdown on corruption among government officials, sending a strong message about accountability and transparency in public service.
