Kandhamal Police Seize 9 Quintals of Ganja, Smugglers Escape
In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics, Kantamal police seized nine quintals of ganja during a raid in the Malangi forest of Kandhamal district.
Acting on intelligence, the team led by IIC Basudeb Bhoi launched the operation with SI Prakash Bhoi, PAI Manas Pradhan, home guards, and IRB jawans.
On spotting the police, smugglers abandoned the massive stock and fled the scene.
Authorities have registered a case under the NDPS Act, and the seized ganja will be produced before the court.
This is the latest in a series of large-scale seizures in Kandhamal, highlighting the district’s growing role in Odisha’s anti-narcotics operations.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against those involved in the illegal ganja trade.
