Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today), July 16: BJP National President J.P. Nadda will attend the Odisha state executive committee meeting scheduled for July 19-20 in Puri, as announced by State Unit President Manmohan Samal on Tuesday.
Initially slated for Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s attendance, Nadda will now lead the event on July 19 due to Singh’s health-related unavailability, stated Samal.
State BJP Vice President Biranchi Tripathy outlined that the meeting will gather coordinators for Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies, district presidents, morcha officials, the Chief Minister, all MLAs, MPs, and Union Ministers from the party. Discussions will encompass political landscapes, welfare initiatives, and strategizing future actions to propel Odisha towards development, he added.
This gathering marks the BJP’s inaugural state executive committee meeting post its historic win in Odisha, securing 20 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats. While specifics of the agenda remain undisclosed, the session is expected to scrutinize constituencies where BJP candidates narrowly missed victory. Criticisms concerning candidate selection and alleged ticket trading in certain areas may also be addressed.
Sources within the BJP anticipate the passing of three resolutions during the meeting. The first resolution will express gratitude to Odisha’s electorate for trusting the BJP, enabling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third consecutive term. The second resolution is likely to acknowledge Modi’s extensive campaign efforts in Odisha, credited with swaying electoral outcomes favorably. Finally, the third resolution aims to congratulate Modi on his historic re-election and the formation of a new government at the Centre.
