Jharsuguda: Truck Catches Fire After Hitting Rampela Bridge Wall

A coal-laden truck caught fire after meeting with an accident on the Rampela bridge under Banharpali police limits in Jharsuguda district on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, the truck lost balance and rammed into the side wall of the bridge. The impact caused the engine to ignite, and the flames quickly spread, engulfing the entire vehicle.

The truck was reportedly transporting coal to JSW Company in Sahajbahal at the time of the mishap.

The driver managed to escape with minor injuries. Locals immediately alerted authorities, and Banharpali police, along with the fire services department, rushed to the spot.

Firefighters battled the blaze and eventually brought it under control after strenuous efforts.

Traffic movement on the bridge was disrupted for some time but was restored once the fire was doused. Police have initiated an inquiry into the accident to determine the exact cause of the mishap.
