Jharsuguda Police Bust Inter‑District Brown Sugar Trade, Seven Arrested
Jharsuguda police have dismantled a narcotics network operating across districts, arresting seven individuals and seizing 12.48 grams of brown sugar during a special operation near the railway station.
Acting on credible intelligence, the raid was conducted in the presence of an executive magistrate and witnesses, ensuring compliance with the NDPS Act.
The arrested individuals—Abhirang Ray, Chhotu Sa, Guddu Gand, Bhagirathi Meher, Abinash Behera, Fardin Khan, and Shant Bahadur Thapa—were found to be part of a larger distribution chain, collecting contraband from one location and supplying it across districts.
