Jeypore Police Crack Multiple Loot Cases, Arrest Seven Including Three Minors

Jeypore Town Police have successfully cracked a series of loot cases, arresting seven individuals, including three minors. The arrests followed swift action after a CCTV clip of a knife‑point robbery went viral.

According to police, four adults—Shiva Nayak, Badal Kumar Pujari, Samir Gunia alias Lipun, and Akash Hial—were taken into custody and sent to judicial remand. The three juveniles were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.

The gang was allegedly involved in at least five loot cases, including mobile snatching and cash theft.

In one incident on March 8, they robbed Rs 4,500 from Nabin Santa and his grandfather at knifepoint. Police recovered stolen cash, mobile phones, a knife, and a scooter used in the crimes.

The investigation, led by SDPO Archita Mitali and officers from Jeypore Town Police Station, is ongoing to determine the group’s involvement in other cases.

Authorities have assured that strict action will continue against criminal activities in the region.
