Jay Dholakia Takes Oath as Nuapada MLA, Strengthens BJP in Western Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Jay Dholakia, the newly elected BJP MLA from Nuapada, officially took oath of office and secrecy today at the Odisha Legislative Assembly. The ceremony was administered by Speaker Surama Padhy, marking Dholakia’s formal entry into the House.
Dholakia secured a decisive victory in the recent by-election, defeating BJD candidate Snehangini Chhuria and Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi by a wide margin.
His win is being hailed as a significant boost for the BJP in western Odisha, strengthening the party’s presence in the region.
The by-election was necessitated following the demise of his father, Rajendra Dholakia, who had represented Nuapada as the sitting MLA. Jay Dholakia’s triumph is seen not only as a continuation of his father’s political legacy but also as a fresh chapter in the district’s political landscape.
Supporters and party workers celebrated across Nuapada, viewing the victory as a reaffirmation of the Dholakia family’s influence in local politics.
With renewed energy, Jay Dholakia has pledged to represent the interests of his constituency and work towards development in western Odisha.
