Jay Dholakia Nuapada bypoll victory

Jay Dholakia Wins Nuapada Bypoll with Record Margin | BJP’s Historic Victory

BJP’s Jay Dholakia has stormed to a record-breaking win in the Nuapada by-election, securing 1,23,869 votes and defeating Congress candidate Ghasi Ram Majhi by a massive margin of 83,748 votes. BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria finished third with 38,408 votes.

The bypoll was necessitated by the passing of sitting MLA and former minister Rajendra Dholakia. With an unprecedented voter turnout of 83%, the BJP enjoyed overwhelming support across the constituency.

Despite Congress’s efforts led by PCC president Bhakta Das, the absence of central leaders weakened their campaign. Meanwhile, the BJD fielded an outsider candidate, with CM Naveen Patnaik personally rallying for her. In contrast, the BJP’s campaign was bolstered by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, state president Manmohan Samal, Union Minister Jual Oram, and Chhattisgarh CM Vishnudev Sai.

After his victory, Jay Dholakia expressed gratitude to the people of Nuapada, calling it “the victory of the people” and pledging to focus on development under the leadership of CM Mohan Majhi.
