Jagatsinghpur River Tragedy Claims One Life, Two Still Missing
Jagatsinghpur, October 22, 2025: A routine afternoon turned tragic near Krushnanandapur under Tirtol police limits when three young men were swept away by a sudden current while bathing in the Paika River. The incident occurred around midday, sending shockwaves through the local community.
One of the victims, identified as Sishir Kumar Behera, was recovered by emergency responders and declared dead at the scene. The other two individuals remain missing, prompting an intensive search and rescue operation led by Odisha Fire Services.
Eyewitnesses reported that the group had entered the river together when an unexpected surge pulled them under. Locals quickly alerted authorities, and emergency teams responded within minutes. Despite challenging river conditions, rescue efforts are ongoing.
