Jagannath Temple Drone Intrusion During Rathna Bhandar Counting Raises Security Concerns
Puri, March 25: Security concerns have resurfaced at the Jagannath Temple after two drones were spotted hovering over the sacred premises during the sensitive Rathna Bhandar counting process.
The incident occurred around 5:23 pm, when the drones circled near the Nilachakra, alarming devotees and officials alike.
Authorities immediately flagged the breach as serious, given the temple’s restricted airspace and the sanctity of the ongoing inventory of treasures.
Security teams have begun reviewing footage to determine how the drones bypassed restrictions.
This latest intrusion has reignited debate over whether current surveillance and protective measures are sufficient for one of India’s most revered and heavily guarded religious sites.
