ITTF-ATTU Asian Table Tennis Trophy unveiled in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 7 (UNI) The countdown to the ITTF-ATTU 28th Asian Table Tennis Team Championships began with the grand unveiling of the championship trophy by Odisha Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Suryabanshi Suraj at the Kalinga Stadium.

Yesterday, the ceremony, organised by the Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA) at the Athletics Centre of Kalinga Stadium, highlighted the state’s preparedness to host its first-ever continental table tennis event.
The glittering trophy, symbolising the spirit of competition and excellence, was unveiled to mark the commencement of the championship build-up.

Following the unveiling, the Minister flagged off a specially designed publicity vehicle, decorated with lights, flowers, a playing table, and young paddlers rallying balls, which will tour Bhubaneswar and nearby cities to generate excitement ahead of the tournament.

The championship will commence on October 11, with the finals scheduled for October 15.
OSTTA sources said a trophy tour featuring the tournament mascot ‘Olly’ will also be conducted in the coming days, covering cities such as Puri, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar to engage fans and build anticipation for the event.
