Bhubaneswar, June 20(OT Webdesk): Income Tax officials extended their high-profile investigation for a second day, targeting assets associated with the late Odisha Health Minister, Naba Kishore Das.
The raids, part of an ongoing probe into alleged tax evasion and financial misconduct, spanned multiple sites across Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bhubaneswar.
In Sambalpur alone, five key locations were searched, including Das’ residence in Mudipada, Hotel Mandarin on VSS Marg—where a hard drive was seized—another hotel in Bhalupali, a shopping mall in Ainthapali, and an associate’s home in Sahajog Nagar.
Financial records and digital storage devices were confiscated as part of the operation.
No formal statement has been issued by the minister’s family as of yet.
These actions follow previous raids on properties reportedly linked to Das’ brother, Brajakishore Das, a super-class contractor.
Naba Kishore Das, a senior BJD leader, was assassinated in January 2023.
During his tenure, he remained under scrutiny for alleged financial irregularities, which have now become a focal point for investigators.
