In anticipation of heightened travel demand during the festive season, Indian Railways has announced special express services connecting Puri, Odisha’s spiritual epicentre, to New Delhi.
These unreserved trains aim to ease congestion and offer affordable travel options for pilgrims, families, and holidaymakers heading north for Diwali and other celebrations.
Round-Trip: Anand Vihar Terminal – Puri (Train Nos. 04408/04407)
Train No. 04408 departs Anand Vihar at 11:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, reaching Puri the next afternoon. The return leg, Train No. 04407, leaves Puri at 4:30 PM on Monday, October 20, arriving in Delhi early Tuesday.
Key halts include Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore, Tatanagar, Bokaro Steel City, Hazaribagh Road, Gaya, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Mirzapur, and Ghaziabad. The trains feature 15 general and sleeper coaches, a luggage-cum-brake van, and a Divyangjan coach to ensure inclusive travel.

Train No. 08475 departs Puri at 4:50 AM on Sunday, October 19, offering a scenic route via Sambalpur City and Jharsuguda Road. Stops include Dhenkanal, Bilaspur, Jhansi, and Agra Cantt, connecting central India’s rail hubs and heritage sites.
This service includes 4 general coaches, 14 sleeper coaches, and 2 luggage-cum-brake vans with Divyangjan facilities.
