Indian Navy’s Strategic Response to Pahalgam Terror Attack | Defense Update 2025

Indian Navy response to Pahalgam attack

Bhubaneswar, India (OT Webdesk) – May 11, 2025 – In a decisive display of military strength, the Indian Navy deployed its Carrier Battle Group and allied forces within 96 hours of the Pahalgam terrorist attack on Indian tourists.

The operation showcased India’s advanced defence strategy, forcing Pakistan’s military units into a defensive posture and contributing to the urgent ceasefire request on May 10.

Following the attacks on April 22, the Navy launched weapon firing tests in the Arabian Sea, ensuring combat readiness and validating precision strike capabilities.

This swift mobilisation aligned with the Indian Armed Forces’ new joint doctrine, emphasising inter-service cooperation and intelligence-based countermeasures.

The Navy’s deployment, combined with operations from the Army and Air Force, reaffirmed India’s commitment to strategic deterrence and national security.

With continued vigilance, the Indian Navy maintains an active presence in the Northern Arabian Sea, ready to counter future threats.

India’s defence leadership praised the operation, underscoring its importance in safeguarding citizens and maritime interests.

While the ceasefire provides temporary relief, military experts stress the need for persistent preparedness against regional instability.
