Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team Wins Historic T20 World Cup 2025 | PM Modi Congratulates

The Indian blind women’s cricket team etched their names in history by winning the inaugural T20 Blind World Cup 2025 with an unbeaten run.

In the final at Guwahati, India showcased dominance by restricting Nepal to 114/5 in 20 overs and chasing the target in just 12 overs to secure a seven-wicket triumph.

Phula Saren emerged as the star of the match, scoring an unbeaten 44 runs that guided India to a comfortable finish.

Earlier, India defeated Australia in the semifinals, while Nepal overcame Pakistan to reach the final. Co-hosts Sri Lanka managed only one win, against the USA, in the preliminary round.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the team, calling the victory a “historic sporting achievement” and a “shining example of hard work, teamwork, and determination.” He emphasised that the feat will inspire generations and highlighted the resilience of visually impaired athletes.

Beyond the trophy, the victory represents a landmark moment for blind women’s cricket worldwide, advancing inclusivity in Indian sports and paving the way for greater recognition of visually impaired athletes.
