New Delhi, May 3, 2025 (OT Webdesk ): In a decisive move, India has announced a complete trade ban on all imports and exports involving Pakistan.
The ban, imposed immediately, follows the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
The Ministry of Commerce issued an official directive prohibiting direct and indirect trade of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan.
This action aligns with India’s ongoing efforts to reinforce national security and respond firmly to cross-border terrorism.
Previously, India had undertaken measures such as revoking Pakistani visas and reconsidering treaty agreements. With this latest ban, the government seeks to exert further economic pressure on Pakistan. Officials have indicated that additional steps could follow to address security concerns and diplomatic relations.
Political analysts believe this decision will significantly impact bilateral trade while reflecting India’s unwavering stance against terrorism. Meanwhile, global responses to the ban remain mixed, with some nations calling for diplomatic dialogue.
