New Delhi, June 2, ( OT webdesk) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios held significant discussions today at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, aimed at deepening bilateral relations.
During his three-day state visit, President Peña emphasised Paraguay’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with India, particularly in areas of security, trade, healthcare, and sustainable development.
PM Modi reciprocated by affirming India’s support in the fight against terrorism, cybercrime, and organised crime.
The leaders also highlighted their shared vision for South-South cooperation, with a focus on education, digital infrastructure, agriculture, and strategic partnerships.
Reflecting on past collaborations, Modi recalled India’s vaccine assistance to Paraguay during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier in the day, President Peña paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and received a ceremonial Guard of Honour upon arrival.
The visit is expected to lead to multiple bilateral agreements, further strengthening India–Paraguay diplomatic ties.
