India-Pakistan Agree to Ceasefire: A Step Towards Stability

India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement

New Delhi, May 10, 2025 (OT Webdesk) — In a significant move aimed at reducing military tensions, India and Pakistan have reached an agreement to cease all firing and military operations on land and in the air.

The decision was announced after high-level discussions between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of both nations.

The ceasefire, which came into effect at 5 PM, is expected to bring much-needed peace to the border regions.

Following the agreement, both countries plan to hold further diplomatic talks on May 12, ensuring continued cooperation and stability.

Speaking on the development, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the agreement, stating that both sides have pledged to uphold the terms of the ceasefire and focus on diplomatic resolutions.

While tensions have previously escalated between the neighbouring nations, experts believe this ceasefire could pave the way for deeper dialogue and long-term peace initiatives.

Citizens on both sides have expressed optimism about the move, hoping that the ceasefire marks a new era of stability in the region.
