Barbil (OT Webdesk): —
The Rungta Townhall in Barbil of Kendujhar district came alive with colour, charisma and compassion as the inaugural edition of India Crowned Legends unfolded in a spectacular showcase of fashion and purpose.
This first-of-its-kind event brought together aspiring models, cancer survivors, fashion entrepreneurs, and civic leaders to celebrate not just beauty, but bravery and social awareness.
The pageant broke conventional boundaries by featuring five inclusive categories — Mr, Miss, Mrs, Prince and Princess — each designed to honour individuality, confidence, and commitment to community causes.
Participants from across Odisha graced the stage with elegance and heart, making the competition both glamorous and meaningful.
In the Prince category, Sagun Marndi from Baripada was crowned winner, followed by Swoyam Prakash Mohapatra and Touheed Alam from Barbil. The Princess title went to Laxmipriya from Joda, with Khirabdhi Tanaya and Archita Ray from Barbil as runners-up.
The Mr category saw Inderpreet from Barbil take the top spot, with Suumit Dasgupta from Bolani and Istiyak Alam from Barbil earning runner-up honours.
In the Miss category, Santoshi Mahanta from Barbil emerged victorious, followed by Lovely Sharma and Bidiya Sahoo. The Mrs category celebrated Sandhya Gupta from Barbil as the winner, with Isha Singh and Yatri Mahakud from Joda as runners-up.
A deeply moving highlight of the evening was the Cancer Fighters’ Walk, where survivors walked the ramp with dignity and strength, sharing their stories and inspiring the audience.
Their presence turned the runway into a platform of resilience and hope, emphasising the importance of early detection and community support.
Adding flair to the evening, a new fashion brand was launched with professional models unveiling its debut collection in a high-energy runway show.
The designs reflected a blend of modern aesthetics and cultural pride, reinforcing Keonjhar’s emerging role in India’s fashion narrative.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Ramesh Chandra Nayak, Executive Officer, Barbil Municipality, along with local dignitaries, fashion influencers, and community leaders who praised the initiative for its inclusive spirit and transformative message.
Behind the scenes, a visionary team led by Organiser Atul Giri, Director Dhananjay Das, Co-Director Ranjit Patra, Co-Creative Director & Women Safety Ambassador Bharati Pradhan and Co-Director & Advisor Abhishek Gupta ensured the event’s success.
Their collaborative efforts turned the evening into a powerful statement of empowerment, elegance, and empathy.
India Crowned Legends has set a new benchmark for events that blend entertainment with impact.
As the applause echoed through Rungta Townhall, Kenonjhar witnessed not just a pageant, but the birth of a movement — one that celebrates beauty with purpose and community with pride.
