India Clinches Sixth ICC U19 World Cup Title with Sooryavanshi’s Record Knock

Harare: India’s dominance in youth cricket reached new heights as the team lifted its sixth ICC U19 Cricket World Cup trophy, defeating England in the 2026 final at Harare Sports Club.

The star of the night was opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who delivered a breathtaking innings of 175 runs off just 80 balls, smashing 15 fours and 15 sixes.

His strike rate of 218.75 not only stunned the opposition but also rewrote the record books, surpassing Unmukt Chand’s 111* in the 2012 final and Raj Bawa’s 162* in 2022.

India posted a mammoth 411/9, the highest total ever in a U19 World Cup final.

England’s chase was disrupted by rain, and despite their efforts, India’s disciplined bowling attack ensured a comfortable victory.

Led by skipper Ayush Mhatre, India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, reinforcing their reputation as the powerhouse of youth cricket.

With this triumph, India now stands tall with six U19 World Cup titles, further ahead of Australia’s four.

Sooryavanshi’s record-breaking performance has earmarked him as one of the brightest prospects in world cricket, while India’s victory continues to inspire the next generation of cricketers.
