India Clinches Asia Cup 2025 with Thrilling Win Over Pakistan

Dubai: In a high-stakes finale at the Dubai International Stadium, India emerged victorious over arch-rivals Pakistan by five wickets to lift the Asia Cup 2025 trophy.

Chasing a modest target of 147, India overcame early setbacks as Faheem Ashraf and Shaheen Afridi rattled the top order, dismissing Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and captain Suryakumar Yadav cheaply.

Tilak Varma anchored the innings with a calm and composed 69 off 49 balls, forging a crucial partnership with Shivam Dube that steadied India’s chase.

With 10 runs needed in the final over, Dube’s dismissal briefly reignited Pakistan’s hopes, but Rinku Singh sealed the win in style with a boundary, finishing with a strike rate of 400.

Earlier, Pakistan looked poised for a big total with Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) laying a solid foundation.

However, Kuldeep Yadav’s four-wicket blitz, supported by Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel, triggered a dramatic collapse—Pakistan lost 9 wickets for just 33 runs, folding for 146 in 19.1 overs.

India’s triumph marked a hat-trick of wins over Pakistan in the tournament—group stage, Super 4, and final—cementing their dominance and defending their Asia Cup crown. Tilak Varma was named Player of the Match for his match-winning composure under pressure.
